Stuart’s Thoughts

Clyde head coach Stuart Millar talked to the official website this afternoon, following another busy day of pre-season training and signing activity.

He began by commenting on the captures of Bryan Dingwall and Ross McMillan:-

“When I spoke to Bryan I did tell him that I’d get pelters for signing a guy who is 34 but I believe he will score goals for us. He was the most prolific scorer in the Junior game over the past few years and is a great penalty box striker. We will need his eye for goals next season.

“I was also pleased to get Ross added to the squad. He is the central defender we’ve been looking for – he was a very important player for Largs last year and a number of senior clubs were interested in him so I’m delighted he has chosen us.

“I’m certainly very happy with the way things are shaping up overall. We are doing things the right way and getting together a squad that has competition for places and, importantly, the right attitude. The two guys who signed today have that in abundance.

“We have spoken to some players who refused to come and train with us unless they were signed, whereas Bryan came in, worked hard and showed his desire to earn a deal. That is the sort of spirit we need at our club.

“We had another good morning’s work today and we will continue to work at preparing the squad. I am also confident that we will be able to confirm two more signings next week.”
