Sawyers Signs On
Following Monday’s announcement detailing the latest squad situation, director of football Neil Watt has held further talks with last season’s top scorer, Willie Sawyers who was keen to extend his stay at Broadwood and has now signed for the 2010-11 campaign.
Neil said, “Willie has been thinking carefully about his future and having made the step up from Junior football last year he is keen to continue developing his career at Broadwood.
“Like others in last year’s squad, Willie was disappointed with relegation and despite having other SFL club admirers he is desperate to do his bit to help the club next season.”
The official website was keen to catch up with Willie and he had this to say…
“Last year was about getting adjusted to this level of football and it wasn’t until well into the season that I felt I was able to show some of what I have to offer. I am due in hospital shortly for a cartilage operation but I intend to be fit for the start of the season.
“I am looking forward to the new season’s challenge and particularly to working with Stuart Millar, who I have heard a lot of very positive reports about.”
