Clyde 0-1 Cowdenbeath

A late penalty was enough to give the visitors all three points this afternoon, which they probably deserved for dominating the second half.

Clyde started the match in a new-look 3-5-2 formation, including new loan signing Lee Graham, and it seemed to be working reasonably well, with a decent early performance being produced. There were, however, few chances at either end but Willie McLachlan came closest for the Bully Wee with two shots from outside the box that just went wide.

The Blue Brazil started the second half strongly and should have opened the scoring when a close range shot came crashing back off the bar. At the other end, Robert Halliday (left) did well to set up Ally Park but his header was brilliantly tipped over the bar by away ‘keeper Hay.

Cowdenbeath then appeared to have a very strong penalty claim denied, as John Brown introduced subs Odunewu, Stevenson and Muir to try and change the flow of the game – with the latter controversially replacing Odunewu only a short time after his introduction.

Justice was perhaps done with only a minute to go though, as the referee did point to the spot for a handball claim that looked more marginal than the first incident. Scott McBride sent Callum Reidford the wrong way and it was too late for Clyde to try and start attacking again.
