Friendly Matches Fill the Gap

Scotland’s effort to qualify for the 2010 World Cup has meant a two-week break from competitive action for the Bully Wee, but the team are being kept in shape through bounce games and friendly matches.

Yesterday saw John Brown and the players travel to Cappielow for a closed door match against Morton. The First Division side ended up 4-0 winners, which will have provided the Clyde boss with some food for thought this week.

One positive to take away from Greenock was the return of left-back Connor Cassidy, following an injury that has kept him away from the pitch so far this season.

The action continues on Tuesday with an official friendly at Rutherglen Glencairn (7.30pm). It’s open to the public so you are welcome to attend, with admission at £5 for adults and £2.50 for concessions.

The Glens home is at:-

The Clyde Gateway Stadium (formerly New Southcroft Park)
Toryglen Road
Rutherglen G73

Clyde last visited the Junior club in 2008, in a match to mark the official opening of the new stadium.
