Trust Helps Secure Trio
Before yesterday’s match at Dumbarton, deals were struck with Alan Lithgow, Dave McKay and Paul McLeod to keep them at Broadwood until the end of the 2009-10 season.
All three had been on one-month contracts, due to expire this weekend.
The signatures were secured thanks to backing by the Supporters’ Trust and its Bully Wee Fund initiative. The Bully Wee Fund, which sees supporters donate funds directly to the playing squad, has continually helped to enhance the squad since it was launched in 2004.
Lithgow and McKay are well known to Bully Wee fans, having been part of last season’s team. Striker McLeod, a former Hamilton youngster, has already featured in every game of the season so far and impressed John Brown.
The Clyde boss admitted that it was “a big plus” to get the trio of players signed up.
They all went on to feature in the match against the Sons, with Lithgow scoring two goals.
