Two Return for Cup Clash
Clyde’s Co-operative Insurance Cup campaign begins at Broadwood tomorrow, with a first round visit of Forfar Athletic.
Following last week’s disappointment at exiting the ALBA Cup at the first hurdle, the match represents another chance to start a cup run which would boost the club on and off the field.
Dave McKay and Callum Reidford are back from injury, with the latter set to make his Bully Wee debut in goals.
Robert Halliday, however, is doubtful and Darren Walker’s ankle injury will keep him out for at least a couple more matches.
Don’t forget that under-16s can watch the match for free! Click here for full admission details. Season Tickets will also be available to purchase and to uplift from the Leisure Centre from 1.30pm onwards
Clyde boss John Brown commented, “We’ve had a good week. Some of the boys have been coming in voluntarily in the morning as well as in the evening, as they try to get sharper and the signs are good that we are making progress.
“During the training sessions, we’ve worked at looking to see how we can create more chances as that was the failing we had last week against Stenhousemuir. In that game we competed well for the first hour and then fell away, but throughout the game we never put their keeper under pressure. We need to change that tomorrow.
“Dick Campbell’s teams will always be up for it and the players know that they will be in a tough contest. It is an important game, we want to get our first victory and everyone knows the benefits to the club as a whole that a good cup run can bring.”
