Queen of the South 7 v 1 Clyde
The Bully Wee are on the brink of relegation following an embarrassing defeat at Palmerston Park.
Clyde were swept away virtually from the kick-off and Queens raced into a two-goal lead, through Dobbie and Kean.
Tosh seemed to finish the match off after 21 minutes when he made it 3-0 but a lovely free-kick by Willie McLaren briefly gave the travelling support hope.
Clarke – who had played in unusual midfield positions – and Winters were removed at half-time and replaced by McSwegan and McKay. However, they had no chance to make a difference as Dobbie, Harris and Dobbie again made the scoreline emphatic with half an hour still to play.
The home side began to take their foot off the gas and only scored one more goal, as Dobbie grabbed his fourth.
Speaking to the press after the match, a dejected John Brown said, “I’m totally embarrassed for the club after a defeat like that. I didn’t get the right reaction from the players today and I’ll be thinking about that over the next couple of days.”
