3 In, 2 Out for Palmerston Trip
Clyde’s fight for survival continues on the park tomorrow with a trip to Palmerston to play Queen of the South. Despite a fine 3-0 victory against Airdrie United last Saturday it seems that once more changes will be forced on the manager due to doubts about Gregory Tade and Tony Stevenson but, positively, it looks likely that both Pat Clarke and Ricky Waddell will win their fitness battles.
The fact that the starting eleven will have to be changed again obviously frustrated the Bully Wee boss who commented, “Once again we’ve had to make changes. Gregory is struggling with a virus and Tony Stevenson will also miss out due to injury. It has been torture this season, every time you think you are getting a settled eleven we’ve had to change it but it’s part and parcel of the game and we just need to get on with it.”
On the game itself, John was positive: “We know what we have to do. Win games and get the points. It’s in Airdrie’s hands and they can only blow it. We just need to concentrate on getting goals and build on last Saturday’s performance.”
Queen of the South have had some fantastic results of late with wins away at Partick and at St. Johnstone emphasising the quality that they have throughout their ranks.
John concluded, “I saw Queen of the South last weekend and Stephen Dobbie made a big difference and overall it was a great team performance. It is a tough task but one that we are relishing. It is a boost to get Pat back and have Ricky available.
“Youngster Conor Stevenson will also be included in the first team squad. He will step up from our highly rated under-17 side and will start on the bench.
“The mood in the camp is good and we are looking forward to the challenge ahead.”
