“I thought the match said it all, we never performed, we didn’t create anything and that’s why I left before the press conference. The sending off didn’t help but you couldn’t argue with it. David committed two bookable offences and had to go. We need to let our football do the talking so that we merit taking something out of each game. Whoever we pick up front requires a decent supply and recently we have not created enough opportunities and that is the coaches’ job to address that.

“I admit the starting selection against Morton was not the right combination but we felt we needed to change after the display against St. Johnstone. We improved in the second half but still didn’t test the keeper.
 
“Due to the one game suspensions for Willie McLaren and David Hutton, we will once again need to rejig the team and try and find the right formation that can create but without conceding and that is something we have been searching for all season.

“Out of the seven games we have four home games left and we need to win each one. It’s not over yet. There are 21 points still to play for and the one thing that I’m sure about is that the players will work hard and graft and after Saturday’s game they are angry and want to make amends.”
