The reserves return to action on Tuesday night at Broadwood with a match against Partick Thistle which kicks-off at 7.30pm.
John Brown however confirmed that the match will not see the return of Pat Clarke: “Gladly Pat Clarke returned to full training today. We have missed him but he won’t, however, be risked in the match on Tuesday but should be ready for Saturday.
“The reserves gives all the players on the fringes an opportunity to push themselves into contention. Craig O’Reilly and Gary McSwegan will start and it’s up to them to force themselves into my reckoning for Saturday’s game.”
The match signals the end of the group stage of the competition and it’s a winner-takes-all affair.
A win for the Bully Wee will see them through to the knock-out stage, with the Jags needing at least a draw to hang on to second place.
