Partick Thistle 0 v 1 Clyde
The Bully Wee ended a long run of matches without a win over the Jags today, thanks to a spirited team performance at Firhill.
A closely fought first half saw few clear-cut chances at either end, although David Hutton had to be lively on a couple of occasions to keep the score blank.
Clyde began the second period well and Tony Stevenson had a dangerous shot charged down, before the opening goal arrived on 54 minutes.
A Maxwell backpass was inexplicably missed by Johnny Tuffey in the Thistle goal and the ball eventually trickled into the bottom corner in front of a jubilant away support.
Thereafter, Thistle tried to pile on the pressure while Clyde continued to threaten on the break.
A long run by Greg Tade ended with the Frenchman slicing his shot wide of the target from inside the box, with Hutton pulling off a tremendous save at the other end with time running out.
Gemmill and McKay almost capitalised on another Tuffey error not long before the final whistle, which was greeted with delight by the Clyde team and support.
