Clyde 1 v 1 Queen of the South

The points were shared at the end of an eventful match at Broadwood today.

Clyde got off to the ideal start when Ruari MacLennan fed Willie McLaren and he was brought down by away ‘keeper Robinson for a penalty. Alan Trouten calmly slotted the ball into the net.

The match continued to be open with chances at both ends, with MacLennan coming close for the Bully Wee.

The second half saw the visitors exert more pressure and twice appeal for a penalty, but it took until the 79th minute before they scored. A loose ball at the edge of the box broke to Tosh in space and he fired a fine shot into the bottom corner.

McLaren nearly restored the lead straight from the kick-off and then, at the other end, Kean inadvertently blocked a goal-bound effort.

The last chance to win the three points fell to Dave McKay when he was put through on goal, but his weak shot left the home support disappointed.
