St. Johnstone 1 v 0 Clyde

League leaders St. Johnstone proved to be too strong for Clyde today as they registered a win that was more comfortable than the scoreline suggests.

Willie McLaren did come close for the Bully Wee with an early run and shot but in general the hosts were in control and Milne scored with a soft goal after 28 minutes.

The Perth Saints continued to dominate the match into the second half but failed to find a second goal, giving hope that an equaliser could be found.

Clyde had two more chances to score, both of which came late in proceedings. Alan Lithgow had a header cleared off the line and Dave McKay blasted the rebound over, before Alan Main did well to tip a Gary McSwegan header over the bar.

In injury time, sub McSwegan was shown a straight red card following an incident with Liam Craig.
