New Community Coaching School
Supporters may recall news at the tail end of last season regarding the possible expansion of the club’s Community Programme to encompass its traditional heartlands.
Following a hectic bout of close season activity, plans are well advanced for the launch of the Southside Branch of the School of Football, to commence within a week or two. This is a satellite operation building on the success of the well established set up based at Broadwood, hopefully developing in a similar way with the aim of rekindling interest in The Bully Wee in its former stomping ground.
Clyde supporters Stevie Morton and Alex Moore are the men behind this new venture and are keen for it to be a success.
Stevie commented, “We would love for things to be a success and for that to happen we need the support of the local kids in the area and Clyde fans generally, therefore we would appreciate if fans can help us spread the word.
“If things develop as we hope, there is every chance of spreading the Clyde message to a wider audience and where better to start than going back to our roots. Just think, umpteen kids all running around wearing the Clyde badge, gaining a better awareness of Clyde Football Club – resulting at the very least in new supporters but also giving us access to young talent, some of whom could progress to the Pro-Youth set up and develop into potential first team players.
“It’s a well worthwhile venture and one myself and Alex are really keen to see being successful. Please give us your support if you possibly can.”
Coaching sessions for the new set up are scheduled to commence on Friday 19th September at Holyrood Sports Centre in Toryglen (300 yards from Hampden Park) from 6-8pm and are for kids aged 9-12yrs.
The sessions will take place outdoors on the new synthetic 7-a-side pitches. The first session is free to all and thereafter it will be £3 per session.
Stevie and Alex would like to hear from the parents of any kids interested in this new venture. For further details or to register your interest contact Stevie at either of the following:-

They would also like to hear from any Clyde supporters already involved in kids coaching and who would be interested in helping out, or any supporters who may not yet be suitably qualified but are interested in getting involved through help with coach education training.
