Reduced Entry for Co-op Cup Opener

The Bully Wee will host Queen’s Park at Broadwood tomorrow night in the First Round of the Co-op Insurance Cup and, incredibly, it will be the first time since 1993 that the teams have met each other in competitive action

Marvyn Wilson returns to the fold but Neil McGregor looks certain to miss out after picking up a knee injury during Saturday’s match.

Marc McCusker returned to full training today but will need a week or two to get himself ready for first team action. Fellow long-term absentee Ricky Waddell is expected to follow him shortly.

With the possibility of a good draw in subsequent rounds of the competition, much is at stake for both clubs and all supporters can watch the encounter at the following reduced prices:-

Adults: £10
Concessions (students, OAPs, 13 to 16-year-olds): £5
Under 12s: Free (with an accompanying adult)

John Brown spoke to www.clydefc.co.uk this evening and was relishing the chance to improve on Saturday’s performance:-

“The boys are disappointed with how they played but they got a boost by getting the late goal. We know that we need to improve and I am expecting a reaction.

“There’s a lot at stake for the club in this competition. We’re at home and we will be looking to take full advantage of that but Queen’s Park won’t make it easy for us.

“There should be some added interest in the match with Stuart and Alan now playing for us and we’re looking forward to it.”
