Depleted Squad Set for Perth Test

The Bully Wee will travel to McDiarmid Park tomorrow for a testing First Division match against St. Johnstone.

The Perth Saints have lost their last two league matches and Clyde are looking for a first win of the season so it looks set to be a hotly contested encounter.

John Brown may be forced to shuffle the pack due to injuries. Definitely out are Gary McSwegan (hamstring), Neil McGregor (knee), Willie McLaren (ankle) and David Hutton. The ‘keeper is struggling with a knee injury and is expected to be out of action for about two weeks.

There was more bad news on the injury front this week when Marc McCusker learned that he needed another operation on his foot, which will sideline him for a further six weeks.

Marvyn Wilson is also classed as a doubt to make tomorrow’s match after taking a knock during the midweek match against Hamilton.

However, Michael Ohnesorge is available for selection, with his sending off for two bookings on Tuesday meaning a suspension only in that competition.

The Clyde boss said:-

“We’ve been working hard and playing some decent stuff but some poor defending has cost us. The spirit has been good though so if we can keep that going then hopefully we’ll get something tomorrow. St. Johnstone haven’t had the best of starts and will be well up for the game.

“We’ll just keep playing away and hopefully our hard work will get its rewards. It’s still early days and some of the performances have been good – if we keep that going then we’ll soon get a rub of the green and a win.”
