Further Match Practice

Airdrie United visited Little Kerse this morning for a closed door match against The Bully Wee.

John Brown again chose to leave out several players suffering from slight knocks; a precautionary measure ahead of the trip to England.

The match itself was very hard-fought and finished 1-1. Airdrie took the lead after Clyde’s German trialist was unlucky to see the ball rebound off the post, off him and into the net.

A second own goal levelled the scores, when a Diamonds defender was unable to clear a Gary McSwegan shot.

David McGowan and Dave McKay came close to scoring in the second half and Peter Cherrie pulled off a great save before the end.

CLYDE: Hutton (Cherrie 45), Trialist, Higgins, McGregor, Wilson, McGowan (Clarke 55), Trouten, Murch, McSwegan (McKay 45), Trialist (Ruari MacLennan 45), McLaren.
