Clyde 0 v 1 Rangers
Clyde’s pre-season schedule continued tonight with a testing match against a full strength Rangers side.
For large spells it was all about discipline and keeping shape for The Bully Wee, as the SPL club enjoyed the majority of possession.
David Hutton had to look lively on a few occasions to keep the scoreline blank but at the other end a Jorg Albertz free-kick had The Gers’ defence worried.
Guest Arthur Numan left the field after about 30 minutes and he was followed by Albertz and Brian Laudrup just after half-time. All three performed well and were given a warm reception by the 7653 crowd.
Peter Cherrie, who assumed goalkeeping duties at the break, had just pulled off a wonderful save when he pushed a Lee McCulloch drive onto the bar.
Rangers eventually took the lead on 79 minutes when a Charlie Adam shot went in off Nacho Novo, but Clyde had chances to score late in the game though Trouten and McGowan.
