Future Challenges
John Brown remarked today of his satisfaction over the busy pre-season schedule that has been arranged for the squad:-
“A crucial element in preparing for the league campaign are friendly matches and we’ve organised a tough series of matches before the big kick-off. Towards the end of this week we will have a bounce game and then things will shape up towards our tour down South.
“The games are vital for the players to gain match fitness and it may be a cliché but it’s true the results are not the most important thing at the moment.
“The guys are all looking forward to the tour in England and we’ve just confirmed another match. As well as games against Great Yarmouth and King’s Lynn and we are delighted to add another game against Championship side Norwich City. The games will be of a good standard that will test us thoroughly.
“The match against Norwich is strictly a closed door affair for supporters of both sides and we’d asked all the fans travelling down to respect the wishes of the host club.
“When we return we will also have a closed door match against Stranraer, games against Glencairn and Rangers while after our Challenge Cup match we will face Hibs at Broadwood.
“We are pleased with the schedule we have organised. It gives us a perfect opportunity to ensure the players are ready for the kick-off and can hit the ground running. That is our goal.”
