Hutts is Player of the Year

David Hutton was last night named the Clyde supporters’ Player of the Year for season 2007/08. The announcement was made at the annual end of season event organised by the Castlemilk Branch, which was, as always, a very enjoyable evening.

Hutton, who is the only ever-present in The Bully Wee side this season, has impressed with a number of solid displays between the sticks.

Fittingly, he was presented with his trophy by one of the club’s all time great goalkeepers, Tommy McCulloch. Tommy gave 15 years service to Clyde and, of course, wore the number 1 jersey in the 1958 Scottish Cup success.

A presentation was also made to Tommy himself to commemorate the 50th anniversary of the Hibs match.

The event was attended by John Brown and the first team squad, who were pleased to see Dougie Imrie come along after his side’s trip to Fir Park. Other guests included John Brogan, Neil Hood, John McHugh, John and Francis McBeth and John Watson.
