Clyde View Loses Out
The results of the 2007/08 Scottish Programme of the Year were announced last week and, after an twelve year reign, The Clyde View controversially lost it’s crown.
Despite having the highest points total of all 42 clubs, the judges decided to compare the top two programmes – those of Clyde and Aberdeen – independantly and found The Dons’ effort to be the winner.
The Bully Wee did, of course, retain the First Division award. Programme Monthly magazine said:-
“The panel of judges who were given the onorous task of comparing the winning programmes in the top two divisions, in order to find an overall winner, found it hard to separate the Aberdeen and Clyde programmes. The deciding factor, given that both issues scored equally on all other qualitative criteria, was the greater volume of text in the Dons’ programme.”
The top ten points scorers were as follows:-
- Clyde (83.25)
- Aberdeen (82.57)
- Hearts (80.50)
- Inverness CT (76.00)
- Montrose (75.67)
- Dundee United (72.86)
- Rangers (72.43)
- Falkirk (72.29)
- Celtic (70.17)
- Gretna (69.00)
