Brown Rings The Changes!

John Brown continued to broaden the players’ horizons today when he took them for a special training session at a boxing gym. The additional work with a boxing instructor was aimed at offering something different to the squad and to help improve their body strength.

This targeted move follows on from a similar specialised drill that took place earlier in the week. The Clyde manager felt that it would benefit some members of the squad to do some intensive endurance work to try and help them reach peak fitness levels.

The team’s regular training schedule has also been adjusted and now features two double sessions a week, with fitness coach Rab Kielty continuing his valued input on a part-time basis. The timetable has been planned to ensure that ball work is done every day but balanced with the appropriate level of conditioning work.

The changes installed by John haven’t been restricted to the training ground though. The squad’s diet is now controlled by having breakfast and lunch on site before and after training, which carries the added bonus of keeping the lads together and building team spirit.

The Clyde boss is leaving no stone unturned in his determination to get The Bully Wee climbing the league and as further proof of this he has also installed a number of regulations for the first team and under-19 squads to adhere to whilst carrying out their duties at Broadwood, in order to enhance their discipline and professionalism.
