Queen of the South 3 v 1 Clyde
Clyde crashed to defeat at Palmerston today as Queen of the South won by 3 goals to 1. It was a disappointing display but started relatively well as Clyde grabbed the opening goal against the run of play. Gary Arbuckle was upended in the box and Michael McGowan took responsibility and made no mistake from the spot.
The home side had started strongly – forcing David Hutton into two good saves – but the goal seemed to settle Clyde and the remainder of the first half was a more evenly contested affair.
The Bully Wee continued to hold onto the lead until the hour mark when Stephen Dobbie equalised. Paul Burns got the second ten minutes later, taking advantage of an extremely fortunate break of the ball.
Steve Tosh’s late penalty sealed Clyde’s fate as they struggled to get back into the match.
Colin Hendry faced the press after the match and you can hear his view on the game later tonight.
