Clyde v St. Johnstone

Colin Hendry and Dougie Bell spoke to the Official Website today and gave their thoughts on the week’s events and tomorrow’s match against St.Johnstone at Broadwood.

The Clyde Manager was looking forward to the encounter:-

“It’ll be nice to see Derek McInnes, who I played with at Rangers. It’s good to see him make the step up to management and I’m sure he’s enjoying it.

“St.Johnstone are one of the better sides in the league but it’s a game we must try to win. We’re getting better at home but we aren’t there yet. Hopefully we can continue to progress that tomorrow.”

Steven Masterton, who came so close to winning all three points when the sides last met, continues to be ruled out with a knee injury and Dougie Imrie will serve the last match in his suspension. Colin continued:-

“I thought we played some smashing stuff up at Perth, especially in the second half. David Hutton made an unfortunate mistake and Steven hit the post late on so we could have won the match. We can take heart from that.

“I’m sure it will be a tough and close match.”

Dougie first looked back on Wednesday’s draw at Hamilton:-

“I saw a bit in the paper about Billy Reid not being too happy about the way we played but we have approached a few games in that way and I thought we made the better chances. They had a lot of possession but I thought the game went the way we thought it would.

“Ruari MacLennan was carrying a knock and Marvyn Wilson was just back from injury so I thought both did really well to play for 90 minutes. Marvyn showed a lot of experience after getting a booking and stuck to his task well.

“I also thought Gary Arbuckle worked hard and did well up front on his own. It’s a hard job up there yourself but that’s the second match in a row I feel he’s played well. Kevin Bradley on the wing also deserves a mention for his performance.”

Like Colin, Dougie was also looking for the players to build on the victory over Livingston:-

“Our home form was a worry but we played good football against Livingston and we’re looking to do that again tomorrow. We’re on a wee run at the moment and the players are confident so we’re looking forward to it.”
