Clyde 2 v 0 Montrose

The Bully Wee secured a place in the Fourth Round of the Scottish Cup with a home win over Montrose that wasn’t always pretty but was ultimately a job done.

Clyde started the match in the best possible fashion when Gary Arbuckle tapped in after a dangerous cross was not cleared by the away defence. Colin Hendry’s men continued to dominate proceedings but couldn’t convert one of the many chances created to open a two goal lead.

The Gable Endies raised their game considerably in the second period, causing Clyde some problems and forcing David Hutton into two excellent saves.

However, Dougie Imrie finished things off with a late run and goal as Montrose were caught high up the park.

The draw for the Scottish Cup Fourth Round will take place on Thursday, 12.30pm at Hampden and will be shown live on Sky Sports.
