“A Different Game”
Colin Hendry is in no doubt that tomorrow’s home match against Partick Thistle will be nothing like the last derby encounter, which finished in a heavy defeat for the Bully Wee. He said:-
“You can bet your bottom dollar it will be a different game. The team that went to Firhill was a side in its infancy that didn’t turn up. It was as simple as that.”
As well as avenging that painful August day, the Clyde boss is also keen to make up for the team’s
last outing at Broadwood:-
“Our last home game was a poor show. The players put their hands up to under performing and it was a disappointing show. The fans will forgive you if you go hell for leather but lose 1-0, but not if you play the way we did. Tomorrow will be different.”
Colin will name his team from the same squad that travelled to Perth last week and produced probably the club’s best showing of the season so far. He continued:-
“I hope that the team will generally pick itself. I may adjust it from time-to-time but that will be to maybe address a particular weakness of a side – I would never pick a team just to try and nullify the opposition’s strengths.”
Colin finished by asking for the fans help in making that special derby atmosphere and assured them that they would see a much improved performance in return:-
“Believe me, the players will be ready. They and I know the enormity of the match and the importance of it to the supporters.”
