Getting Started
The Clyde players returned to the training ground today. The inclement weather allowed the players some respite as the squad experienced their first day of Colin Hendry’s reign but the new manager gave further evidence that he will leave nothing to chance.
The Bully Wee stars have often been complimented on their match fitness but the preparations for season 2007/08 have already seen this desire for fitness taken to a new level. Colin arranged for two fitness coaches to join up with the squad for the crucial elements of pre-season training. The duo ensured that the Clyde favourites were given the toughest of introductions to the new regime.
As is the norm, a number of unsigned players and free agents joined the contracted players to go through their paces and impress the boss. Colin is obviously keen to add to the squad and has shown signs that he will leave no stone unturned as he searches north and south of the border.
A couple of players formerly attached to English Premiership clubs joined up today as expected and they worked out alongside some familiar faces, including the likes of Gary Arbuckle and Robert Harris, as well as some trialists from the SPL and Scottish League.
