The scouts have been out in force at Broadwood recently but Joe Miller is determined to keep a hold of his young stars. He said: “The club has unearthed a few gems and they have developed further this season.

“We will never stand in the way of anyone who has a chance of playing at a higher level but despite the interest in these guys we – and by that I mean the partnership between the club and the Supporters’ Trust’s ‘Bully Wee Fund’ – will do our best to keep them here as we are trying to put a squad together to challenge for the title.”

Today, Clyde face relegation threatened Airdrie. The fact that United face the drop would come as a complete surprise to anyone who has just seen the matches between the clubs this season. The Broomfield club have certainly banished their “Bully Wee bogey” this term.

Clyde’s starting line up will be minus Ryan McCann and Joe Miller hinted earlier in the week that he may freshen things up, but it is likely that the team will be on similar lines to the one that faced Livingston during the week.

Meanwhile, former Clyde striker Ian Harty is in a race against time to be fit for this game but another ex-Clyde striker Brian McPhee has been recalled from his loan spell at Stranraer and is likely to feature.
