Partick Thistle v Clyde
Joe Miller will be hoping for more of the same tomorrow when the same squad that’s enjoyed back to back wins makes the short trip to Firhill for the derby clash.
Neil McGregor remains the only injured player but Joe told www.clydefc.co.uk that his recovery was going well. “He’s making good progress and is now mobile without crutches, which we’re delighted about. However, there’s no chance that we’ll be rushing him back and he’s still going to be out for the rest of the season.”
After such a fine performance against Gretna, Joe was in good spirits ahead of tomorrow’s match:-
“I’m pleased with the way the players have responded and there’s a good spirit in the dressing room again. I took everyone out for dinner during the week which helped build the team spirit but cost me a fortune!
“I think the performance against Gretna was up there with the Celtic match in being the best since I came to Clyde. We played to our tactics and every single man did their job correctly.
“We’re unbeaten against Partick Thistle so far this season and I thought we were unfortunate not to win at Firhill the last time when we lost a late goal. It’ll be a hard game but we can take confidence from our recent form.
“I’m pleased with the way Gilmour and Arbuckle are linking up. Brian has brought something new to the club. Gary plays on confidence but he has an abundance of pace and ability and we’re trying to give him the confidence to go out and show it every week.
“I’d also like to mention Robert Harris who’s been playing really well, easing the situation that Neil’s injury put us in. He’s only 20 and has a great future in the game. His attitude this season has been terrific.
“We know it’s a derby match and I hope our crowd will get behind us. The boys know they need to perform to get the backing and it lets the fans know what kind of characters they are if they respond to it positively.”
