Clyde v Partick Thistle
The players trained this morning in horrendous conditions but that did not dampen their spirits in preparation for their traditional derby opener to the New Year against Partick Thistle.
Some perimeter fencing was the only casualty at Broadwood after the Hogmanay storms with the players eager to continue their good home form. The Bully Wee’s last home defeat was on the 13th August against Gretna and the squad will be desperate to protect that record.
The players went through a light training session on the Broadwood field turf and Alex Williams was part of that group. The website understands however that no deal has yet been concluded for the former striker to return on a permanent basis and therefore as things stand at present he would be ineligible to play tomorrow.
Elsewhere in the squad Craig Bryson has now returned to full fitness and is available for selection but the game against the Jags maybe too soon for Ryan McCann and Sean McKenna who are both nursing knocks.
