Clyde 2 v 0 Partick Thistle

Birthday Boy Stevie Masterton scored one and created the other as the Bully Wee eased to a 2-0 victory over Partick Thistle. Masterton opened the scoring in the 35th minute and was the creator in the opening moments of the second half when his in-swinging free kick was glanced home by Craig McKeown.

Thistle boss Dick Campbell refused to use injuries as an excuse and admitted that his Jags side were simply “off the pace” from the first whistle while Joe Miller commented that Clyde have played better and lost this season.

It was not to be a good day for Thistle as Scott Boyd was carried off with suspected cruciate ligament damage, Brown Ferguson with a damaged hamstring and Scott McCulloch was sent off in injury time.

For the Bully Wee it was a welcome three points and a result that pushes Clyde up to fourth position.
