St Johnstone V Clyde

Joe Miller’s starting eleven will be on similar lines to the Bully Wee’s last outing for today’s trip to Perth to play St Johnstone. The match which has a 2pm kick off is the third meeting of the clubs this season with the last meeting being decided by a late Dougie Imrie strike. Hopefully the match will also have a happier outcome than the last visit of Clyde to Perth when the Bully Wee lost out in the cup final to Ross County.

The Clyde squad will be minus the suspended Neil McGregor however will be boosted by the return of Paul McHale following his one game suspension. The match will probably be too soon for the return of the “Mumps Four”.

Joe is also cautious about rushing Steve Masterton back to the starting line up for fear of aggravating his knee injury but Miller is pleased that Masty is getting closer and closer to that date of challenging for the first team .

Up front Joe is certainly pleased with the form of Gary Arbuckle and he looks set to continue leading line. “It is an issue of confidence and Gary has taken his chance and benefited from it.”

Miller also commented on ex Ayr and Dundee forward Andy Ferguson:

“Andy Ferguson gives 100%. I thought he did well against Dundee he put some good balls into the box and could have got a couple of goals. Confidence is a big thing for a striker. Against Dundee, Andy also had to plough a lone furrow up front for a good period of time and that is not easy. Simply he needs to get back to doing what he did when he first came here but some are too quick to criticise. He is still a young kid and unlike the others who have played with each other for a year he is still blending in to the team but I have no doubts that he will be an asset to us.”
