Hamilton Accies V Clyde

After the disappointment of the Boxing Day trip to Perth the Clyde squad are keen to make amends this weekend. The match of course is away to Hamilton and one of the toughest for the Bully Wee. The Lanarkshire derby is always an eventful encounter and with both teams desperate for points there is much at stake. FIFA Whistler Craig Thomson is the man in the middle.

Gary Arbuckle is the man in form up front and he will be wanting to continue his goal streak. Joe Miller commented, “Gary has certainly taken his chance. He has done well and taken belief from that. I believe we also have got better at playing to his strengths and using his pace better. I think the fans are responding to the effort he is putting in and Gary is getting the reward as he continues to be in the right place at the right time in front of goal.”

Another player mentioned was Alex Williams. Tomorrow will be the last time the forward can be listed as a “trialist” and it remains to be seen what happens after that. Joe commented, “I just believe Alex deserves a fair crack of the whip. Things didn’t work out for him the way he hoped after moving on in the summer. I think he has learnt some things and he wanted to return to us. He enjoys our style of play and of course got 14 goals for us last year. He is a live wire in the dressing room, a great trainer and he now needs to keep improving his match fitness.”

Neil McGregor returns to the squad following his suspension apart from that the squad will be on similar lines to Tuesday.
