Honours Shared
Honours were shared today at Broadwood in a match that rarely set the pulses racing however it was vital that Clyde did not lose today and they achieved that after a hard working display in which two magnificent strikes from Paul McHale and Dougie Imrie crashed off the bar.
Dick Campbell was the first to comment after the game, “Big credit to Clyde. They are are fighting for their lives. I thought we edged it a bit in the first half, we hit the post and Simon Donnelly had two great chances then in the second half Clyde were getting a bit of joy.”
“It was a typical derby both teams put their heart into it, we didn’t play as well as we can and all credit to Clyde, they closed us down at every opportunity and I don’t have any problems with that at all.”
“From the positive point of view I got 90 minutes into big Paddy Keogh and we’ve not lost a goal made opportunities we had three great chances with headers at set pieces but overall you’ve got to say a draw was a fair result.”
Joe Miller also spoke to the media after the game, “I thought it was a lot better than last week. At Dundee we were struggling with injuries and suspensions but we responded well today.”
“It was a typical derby
“I thought the back three for us today were exceptional. The way that Thistle played the ball long and high up to big Keogh caused a problem with wee Simon Donnelly round about him getting the knock downs but Chris Higgins, Robert Harris and Neil McGregor were outstanding.”
“So far this season we have been limited in numbers, limited in the squad and limited in what we could do but this is a start for all of us its still early doors and all we can do now is start picking up points in the next few weeks.”
