Clyde V Stranraer
As Clyde prepare for their final game of the season against Stranraer, assistant manager Joe Miller reflected on the memorable campaign, “Overall the season has flown in and the boys have been magnificent. I’ve enjoyed every minute. Graham and I both played under great managers and now we’re delighted to have an opportunity to make an impact in the game.”
“After our shaky start I think the club has been taken to another level and now the pressure is on us to deliver next year. I truly believe we’ve ended up in a false position. At the very start when we played against SPL opposition Graham and I knew the squad would hold their own.”
“The boys have shown their raw enthusiasm now they have to develop and demonstrate their tactical awareness. I think the boys need to also grow in stature and since the Celtic game we have altered training
Joe commented on the recent press speculation surrounding some of the team. “We haven’t received any bids for any of our players. We want to keep our squad together as we believe we have got a great nucleus to challenge.” The management team who are likely to operate with squad numbering around 18 as opposed to 23 next year have faith in the talent that is with the club at present.
One player who has shone recently has been Dougie Imrie (pictured right) and Joe has certainly been impressed by his talent, “He shows great potential and will be even stronger next season with a full pre season.”
Dougie will of course be wanting to build on his solid performances in the left wing back role and Joe has every confidence in him, “Dougie is a great listener and works hard at his game.”
As Stranraer prepare for their play off date with Partick Thistle they will be determined to avoid a Bully Wee whitewash equally Clyde who have a virtually full squad to choose from will want to end the season on a high prior to their trip to Canada.
