Clyde Kids In Cumbernauld
Tuesday night saw the inaugural coaching sessions for the Clyde FC community coaching scheme and the evening was hailed a great success by club officials. Director John Ruddy commented, “The emphasis is for all kids regardless of their ability to enjoy themselves in a safe and fun environment, that is what community football is all about.”
Qualified coaches will supervise the sessions and work with the kids to improve their game and staff were pleased that 36 new recruits registered this evening for the 1996, 97 and 98 sides and this will supplement 34 other youngsters involved with the 1994 and 95 teams.
John continued, “The response has been encouraging as there hasn’t been a great deal of promotion of the scheme to date. We just want local youngsters to enjoy learning about the game and enjoy representing Clyde FC in their own area.”
Peter Smith has been appointed as Head Coach of Clyde’s Community football scheme and he can be contacted by emailing peter.smith@clydefc.co.uk
