Malone Made Team Captain

Eddie Malone has today been made team captain in a move that manager Graham Roberts hopes will continue to develop Malone as a key player in Clyde’s future. Graham commented, “Eddie was magnificent today. We have made Eddie team captain as sometimes he gets silly bookings and we felt we would give him some responsibility to address that and he led by example today. Paul McHale (pictured right) remains our club captain but we want to help Eddie as well.”

Eddie was proud to be asked, “It is a great honour for me. After today’s result I was joking with Paul that the gaffer should have made me captain at the start of the season! I think the decision was also partly take some pressure off Paul as he comes back from a bad injury and so he can concentrate on just playing.”

“The gaffer told me before the game today. He spoke to Paul and me, Paul remains as club captain with me as team captain until at least the end of the season. I don’t think I’m the loudest on the pitch but I want to lead by example in the way that I play.”
