Getting Ready

Preparations are continuing in earnest for Saturday’s encounter with league leaders St Mirren. Ground staff were working on the pitch yesterday draining any surface water and placing the covers on it in case of further snow. The pitch though soft is playable at the moment and all are confident that the eagerly awaited tie should go ahead.

Graham Roberts spoke to the website prior to the weekend clash, “The players are training hard for the St Mirren game, as we aim to finish as high up the league as possible so we can push on and build some momentum for next year.”

Graham was fulsome in his praise of Champions elect St Mirren, “I’m pleased for them. They deserve it. The league does not lie and over the last 8 months or so they have proved that they are the best team. I’m delighted for Gus and wish them all the best in the future. But on Saturday we want to have a real go, in 2 or 3 of the matches we’ve felt that we have played really well without getting the reward and we will be out to make amends at the weekend.

“I just hope the game gets a big crowd as the players deserve it as any visitor to Broadwood would vouch they are seeing entertaining football and the game with St Mirren will be no exception.”
