All Done!

Clyde boss Graham Roberts spoke to the website this evening to confirm that he has no further plans to strengthen his squad for the remainder of the season. “We’ve brought in Kevin McDonald from Hibs and Dougie Imrie (pictured bottom right) from Lanark United and that will be that. It’s no secret that we have been trying to further bolster the squad. Today we tried to add another player from Hearts but a deal could not be done so I don’t see any other additions coming in.”

Significantly, despite speculation, it also seems no other players will be leaving. “On Monday evening we turned down a substantial offer for Tom Brighton (pictured left) from an English Championship side. We simply want him to stay.”

Graham commented: “We’ve tried to get players from Rangers, Celtic, Aberdeen and Kilmarnock to name but four but all to no avail. There was no point in bringing in anyone not as good as the players here just for changes sake. We’ll save the money and spend it in the summer to build a promotion-winning squad.”

Graham finished by emphasising his hopes for the immediate future. “We haven’t given up on this season yet and have a very important and difficult game on Saturday against Gretna. All our minds are now focussed on that. I now know the players we have between now and the end of the season and we will continue to be positive as Joe and I try to bring success to this club.”
