The Young Ones

As the players continue to prepare for the resumption of the league fixtures, Joe Miller took some time out to comment further on the weekend performance against Airdrie United. Although he was reluctant to single out any individuals he was persuaded to mention two members of the squad.

“Paul Jarvie made some crucial saves on Saturday and hopefully he can build his confidence from there. As Graham said, that was the Paul Jarvie we knew when we signed him.”

Joe continued: “Paul has experienced some lows this season but he has came back from them and on Saturday we needed him as he made three or four excellent stops at a vital stage of the match that enabled us to keep our advantage. We were disappointed he didn’t keep a clean sheet but that was beyond our control.”

Another player who impressed was Michael McGowan. Joe commented: “Michael wasn’t imposing himself enough in the first half but we talked to him at half-time, he listened and did well in the second half. It was great to see him supporting the forwards and putting in such an excellent ball for the third goal. Michael has improved every week but the same can be said of all the guys. We’ve got some gems here, they are learning all the time and they will get their rewards if they keep working.”
