Stranraer 1 V 2 Clyde
A Stephen O’Donnnell goal in the fifty-ninth minute, driving home a loose ball from the edge of the box, gave Clyde a deserved 1-0 lead in this afternoon’s First Divisioin fixture at Stair Park in Stranraer but the home side surprisingly got back into the game when defender Stephen Swift drilled a fine shot past Paul Jarviie to equalise in the seventy-fifth minute.
A second Stepehen O’Donnell goal three minutes from time, after rounding two Stranraer defenders inside the box, was enough to give the Bully Wee their first League win of the new campaign, a result accurately reflecting the ninety minutes’ play at Stair Park and a fine confidence booster for Clyde’s important CIS Cup tie next Tuesday in Peterhead.
One black spot in an otherwise successful afternoon was Eddie Malone picking up his fourth booking in four consecutive matches.
