Back To Broadwood!

At last there is a competitive match at Broadwood! Graham Roberts is understandably delighted that after the roads and miles travelled over the last fortnight Cumbernauld is the venue for Saturday’s league clash with Dundee. The Clyde boss appears to have a full squad to choose from but he is in little doubt about the difficulty his young team faces tomorrow:

“It will be a hard game but the boys will be ready for it. It is just so good to be at Broadwood after trips to Brechin, Dingwall and Montrose and with further travels coming up to Stranraer and Peterhead I think we will need to be sponsored by Michelin Tyres!”

Graham is excited at the challenge ahead but also made a point of acknowledging the important role that supporters can play. “We need a twelfth man on Saturday and that is the fans. Dundee have an excellent side and will bring a big and noisy support. I hope our lads in the stands can out sing them and give the guys in the pitch their full backing by making a lot more noise than the opposition. It is vital. I fully appreciate how all the travelling has made it difficult for the fans but I urge all Clyde fans to get out to Broadwood tomorrow and help us get the points.”

“We are trying to nurture talent here, encourage it to grow and develop,” Roberts concluded. “It will take time and the fans are a crucial part of what we are trying to achieve here. I sincerely hope they turn up in good numbers to give us the help we need to cheer us on to victory.”
