All Set For The Ferrymen
Clyde boss Graham Roberts has reported no injury problems for Saturday’s trip to Stranraer. Tom Brighton was forced to withdraw from the Scotland U21 squad during the week due to a knee injury. The young forward underwent a scan on his knee and gladly received the all clear to resume training and to hopefully lead the line on Saturday.
Romauld Bouadji has also made good progress this week. The central defender who featured in Clyde’s opening clash with Brechin returned from London on Thursday and is working hard to regain a starting place in the first eleven. Gary Arbuckle too is working hard to give Graham plenty of options as he prepares the team.
Saturday’s match with Stranraer will be a tough examination for the Bully Wee. Neil Watt’s side have been promoted in the last two seasons and have settled well into life in the First. The Blues have signed a number of familiar faces and are working hard to prove the pundits wrong who assumed that a part time team was destined to the drop from the First.
A major part of Stranraer’s success has been the former Clyde player Stuart Miller. The popular midfielder is now assistant at Stair Park and his enthusiasm has certainly rubbed off
Blues’ manager Neil Watt is determined to ensure that Stair Park is a venue to be feared this season but after last weekend’s encouraging display then Clyde can go into this match with confidence as well.
Graham Roberts is keen to get Clyde’s first league victory and is pleased to have a full squad to choose from for this game. It is the start of another vital few days for the club as the squad tries to build momentum for the campaign ahead. The trip to face Stranraer is followed by another journey North on Tuesday to play Peterhead in the CIS cup. The club has been a stranger to Broadwood but two positive results can set the scene nicely for our second home game of the season next Saturday against Queen of the South.
