Searching For The Stars
Graham Roberts explained to the website his plans for the week ahead. “Friday was an extremely busy day as the response to our offer exceeded all expectations but the end result appears to be positive as we have in the region of 40 players attending trials next week.”
The Clyde boss was delighted with the calibre of player, “We wanted those with professional experience and we got a good response including players from Hibs, Hearts and Inverness Caley.”
“Next week will therefore be a busy time,” Roberts added, “We will put the guys through regular training sessions and take it from there. Some will be invited back to join our pre-season training at Stirling University and it is likely to be during that, that any final decisions will be made.”
Roberts continued: “Of course our search for players was not confined to Friday’s initiative. I stated at the fans forum on Wednesday night that I would leave no stone unturned and that is why we are looking at all possibilities. We are continually talking to players we have identified and will soon be seeing at first hand some from England and others from further afield with the aim of bringing quality to the squad for next season.”
