After the exertions of the cup match it was a relatively quiet day for the players as the squad were given the day off to recuperate. “We will have a better idea of players’ availability after training on Thursday. As usual we asked a lot of the players last night. Stuart (Balmer) was still feeling a rib injury and John (Potter) had a swollen ankle but both contributed magnificently.”

Biggest doubt for Clyde is Graham Jones. “He has a slight hamstring injury and it is not worth risking him as if he took a reaction he would be out for a lengthy period.”

“Another pleasing aspect of our cup win was our fitness levels. I think the performances of the subs also displayed the determination and spirit of this side. Those are attributes alongside our footballing skills that we will need in the oncoming weeks as the games come quick and fast.”
