Three In Race Against Time

Clyde boss Billy Reid confirmed today that Gary Arbuckle (flu) and last weekend’s absentees Ian Harty and Craig Bryson are all facing a race against time in order to be fit for this weekend’s clash against Falkirk. Billed by the press as the League decider, the match will require maximum effort and application, something that hasn’t been lacking from Billy Reid’s side this season.

Billy commented: “Last Saturday’s result was especially pleasing. It came off the back of a great performance against Falkirk and we had to make three changes to the cup tie side but the squad rolled their sleeves up and got on with it. That’s fifteen clean sheets out of twenty-five competitive matches which is a tremendous record”.

Clyde’s squad will be boosted by the return from suspension of Gary Bollan but its preparations have been badly disrupted by the weather, as Billy explained:”We always take Monday relatively easy, the size of the squad dictates that, as the start of the week is the time that injuries from the weekend are looked at and hopefully cleared up. On Tuesday it was impossible to train as many of the squad were unable to get to Glasgow Green and because of the weather the Green is now cancelled for the rest of the week. On Thursday and Friday we will need to train on the pitch at Broadwood. It isn’t ideal but it is essential as we need a good workout prior to the Falkirk game”.
