Down To Earth
Billy Reid spoke today of his views on how three consecutive clean sheets and victories have placed our promotion chances. “We’re not looking at the weekend’s result as meaning anything regarding the title race. We’ve said along that we’re a difficult side to beat and we’ll keep trying to get as many points as we can. Obviously as the season goes on you see where you are and your aims can change and that’s how we are going to address it”.
“We’ve still got a small squad. I’ve got fourteen players, two goalkeepers and three kids between sixteen and seventeen. That’s all we have, so if we hit injuries and suspensions we will have problems. I’ve said all along though that I’m happy with the players I’ve got and that was evident again today”.
“The nature of the result doesn’t surprise me to be honest. We played each other here a couple of weeks ago and Falkirk certainly deserved to win but their goals came via two mistakes by us. So we knew we could match them”.
“I’ve never agreed with some people’s negative opinion of our style of play. The object of this game is not to lose goals and score them at the other end to win. Yes, we all like to see nice free flowing football but the game isn’t about that all the time”.
