U-19’S Capital Venture

Clyde’s Under 19 team face a tough encounter this coming Sunday, 7 November, when they take on SPL opposition in the shape of Hibernian in the Third Round of the SFA Youth Cup, a trophy won last season by Kilmarnock.

Having registered 7-0 wins in their previous rounds against both Greenock Morton and Preston Athletic, the lads know this affair will be an altogether different experience. However, it is one game that the players await with relish rather than any trepidation.

The Clyde boys had a full training session, last night (Thursday) and other than long term injured Mark McJimpsey, Coach Chris Hillcoat has a full squad to choose from.

“The run up to this game has not been ideal, with last week’s league fixture against Elgin being called off,” admitted Chris. “The Elgin match would have given a chance to both Graeme McCracken and Andy Renny to get in some real match practice on their return from injury spells. We had a good training session this evening and discussion about the game, the lads are looking forward to the Easter Road trip.”

Kick off time in the Capital is 1pm. For details on the 19s Youth League Table, visit the Clyde Trust website at www.clydetrust.org
