Striking Form

Billy Reid took some time out from preparing for the weekend to give credit to Aron Wilford. The 6ft 3″ centre forward has had a difficult time recently and had fallen out of the starting eleven.

Wilford, 22, started his career with Middlesbrough. The big forward then moved to Scarborough and latterly Lincoln City before joining Clyde on the eve of the season.

Billy commented, “it is no secret that we were all disappointed at Aron’s form and I spoke with him about that but I think he has shown recently that he is beginning to turn the corner and that can only be good news for the Club”.

Billy continued, “our squad is small in number but can also lack a physical presence up front. Aron was brought in to play an important role in adding to our options in attack. It has been encouraging to see him demonstrate more of his undoubted talent and hopefully very soon that will be translated into goals”.

Aron is likely to get his chance against St Johnstone on Saturday and will be determined to get back on the goals trail. Full Team news on the website on Friday.
