Reid Rocked By Injury Woe
Billy Reid spoke to the website today of the mounting problems before Saturday’s tough game away to St Johnstone. Despite receiving the boost that Eddie Malone is available for selection the Clyde boss does not have his troubles to seek.
Scott Wilson has been suffering from flu and was sent home from training at the start of the week for a few days rest to isolate any illness but Alex Walker and John Paul McKeever have similarly reported flu-like symptoms. “I have to be extremely careful in these circumstances with the size of squad that we have, a sickness bug with even a handful of players can be devastating”, commented Reid.
Unfortunately that is not the only problem facing the Manager, “Gary Arbuckle continues to struggle and we will miss the options and pace that he can give us. He isn’t training and it looks like another fortnight out for him”.
Finally, Jimmy Gibson has also been struggling this week the influential midfielder has been absent from training due to a pelvic injury and faces a race against time to be fit for Perth.
Billy Reid refused to be downbeat and is preparing the rest of the squad for a month that he describes as one of the most critical periods of the season. Away games at Perth, Dingwall and Dumfries as well as home ties against Falkirk and Partick Thistle will test the squad to the limit.
